Kdg.-5thAll of the grades participated in the same activities this week, they were just modified per grade level. (Use of tees, distance of zones, etc.) We are getting so much better at our striking skills--and so many kiddos keep telling me they are joining baseball and softball teams! This week students participated in two different activities. The first was "One Base." One base is a great game because it gives students the opportunity to get a lot of striking, and base running in, while their partners are fielding the ball. Once the fielding team placed the ball on the team, the batter was "out" and he/she was done running back and forth from the base and tee. The second activity was, "Quickball." In quickball, the batting team scores by hitting the ball into the different zones. The zones went by distance, and if the student was able to hit the wall it was a homerun and worth 5 points. Our Wednesday group was very fortunate and able to go outside with the nice weather. They were really able to hit the ball far!I allowed the students to keep track of their personal scores, or just play for fun. I was so impressed by our fielders and their ability to catch pop flies...they would get so excited!
