Whoa! What a quick week, between the snowday Monday and 1/2 days for exams Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, I am ready to see my students all week next week!Kindergarten-2nd GradersOnly two lucky classes came to PE this week, Ms. Gauthier's 1st graders and Mrs. Richey's Kindergarteners. We did our stick races to see if we have improved our cardiovascular endurance since the fall. Students are asked to do as many laps as possible in the gym for the duration of one song (2:30). They absolutely love this, they get to dance, cheer, and chant to support their teammates! 3rd-5th GradersWe started off this week with our mid-year Pacer Test. I mostly only see 5th graders this week due to exams. Our goal for now is to rank on the gold standards OR improve our Fall score by two laps! The Pacer Test is assessed using the Healthy Fitness Zone Standards (HFZ) I have converted them into Bronze, Silver, and Gold Goals to make it easier for the kids! If they make it to gold at the end of the year they earn a golden certificate! Ask you son or daughter what their score was for our mid year assessment!
