Beginning of the week:We finished up the last of our kickball games at the beginning of this week. 1st and 2nd graders played a game of, "Mad Dog" Kickball. The first and second graders were quick to learn that Together Everyone Accomplishes More! Mad Dog kickball helps to keep everyone active. After the kicker kicks the ball the first fielder catches it, and then the rest of the class has to get in a line and either do over-under-over-under in a line or under-under-under-under, we switched it up each time. Over under was definitely the most difficult with so much bending and twisting. The older kids were finally able to play a traditional game of kickball like they have been hoping. We used a pumpkin kickball I picked up from Five Below when I was downstate so it was pretty festive! Middle of the week:We did Halloween Stations K-5 this week, since Monday is usually partly lost due to parties and the Halloween Parade. Stations for 2016 Included:
End of the week:Emerald had local firefighters and law enforcement in to teach they about Fire Prevention/Safety. We were out of the gym and in a classroom so we learned about Pedestrian/Wheeled Safety. The older kids finished a Safe Routes to School Student Survey and played a PAC Man Pedestrian Game. I filled them in on the fitness calendars we are going to be starting soon...stayed tuned for my monthly newsletter for instructions on how your student may win a brand new bike helmet!

The Halloween stations look like so much fun! What a great way to channel all the excitement that comes with Halloween into fun physical fitness activities.
