Week two is in the books! Lower elementary started off the week playing a new game we have never played before called, "Straddleball." Straddleball is similar to the popular game gagaball, but requires less equipment. It was picture day this week so 1/2 of the gym was occupied, and the game was perfect. The object of straddleball is to score a goal buy striking the ball through your opponents legs. The second half of the week K-2 did their "Stick Races." Students were on teams and they took turns running around the gym and collecting sticks for their team, while their teammates cheered them on. It seems simple but they BEG for this all the time, little do they know it is a running assessement! Upper elementary continued their FitnessGram Testing this week, and even got to play a bit of straddleball if we finished testing quickly. This week we focused on cardiovascular component (Pacer Test) and the muscular strength/endurance test in the push up test.
