Kdg.-2nd GradersLower elementary started off the week playing a game called, "Team Memory." Players must physically and mentally work together to trya and collect 5 of their color beanbags that are hidden under the frisbees. We talked a lot about strategy and how it was easier to make a plan so the same team didn't keep looking over the same frisbees! We also talked about being sneaky and not picking the frisbee straight up so that other teams could have a free look! We took turns traveling in different ways and learned what "locomotor movements" were! Towards the end of the week, we played a school favorite! Keeper of the Castle is a fun activity in which the keepers try to protect their treasure. Players were divided into teams and the one that collected the most treasure was the winner! It was well into the 80's this week so we were working hard, and sweating a ton! 3rd-5th GradersUpper elementary students finished off their last FitnessGram test this week, the curl-up on their first day of PE this week. We began our football unit with a catching/receiving game called, "Perfect Pass." I had many kids tell me how much they enjoyed this activity and they got so many practice reps! We went over the overhand throwing cues, and I quizzed them at the end of class to see if they could remember! I was impressed!
