Please remember to return your climbing wall permission slips if you wish to participate! Thank you!Kdg.-2nd GradersWe continued to work on developing our spatial awareness and basic locomotor skills in Kdg-2nd grade this week. We added the skills of chasing, fleeing and dodging. We played three different games this week: critter dash, builders and bulldozers and plank tag. In critter dash, the critters (students with our brand new flag football tails) tried to run past the sneaky foxes without getting their "tails" pulled in order to bring back a piece of food (beanbag) to stock pile for the winter. In builders and bulldozers, we took turns either building the cones up or knocking them down with our hands. Lastly, we had plank tag---and it was blast! All of the adults/grandmas that came in to visit left sweaty too! If you were tagged you must assume a plank position until someone came to free you by moving through a hula hoop in our plank position. This game really worked on our balance and worked several different muscle groups! 3rd - 5th GradersThe older student finished their football skills unit. We continued to develop our football skills through games of "Invade and Conquer Football" and modified flag football. We took turns playing different positions, and we switched teams daily so we could work with each other. The beginning of the week was pretty dreary but we were able to enjoy the sun Thursday!
