Wow! What a crazy and exciting week this has been! We have had assemblies, fire drills, behavior assemblies and so forth! This week in PE I introduced the students to our PE Procedures. We went over our emergency drills, classroom supplies, first aid, learned about my forms of communication (weebly-newsletter-monthly calendars) and found our new stretching spots! Instead of reading the class rules we did rule relays! Students were divided up into 6 teams and raced down to find a puzzle piece. (3rd-5th) had pieces scattered all over the end of the gym with math problems, numbers, number words and dice numbers. They had to figure out what piece of their puzzle added up to their line in order to get the right puzzle piece! Kinder-2nd simply ran in a straight line down to a hula hoop that had the correct pieces inside already-it too early in the year for the number challenge! I was so proud of our teamwork abilities and our leaders that emerged in each group to help put the puzzle together! After each puzzle was assembled we read and went over our class expectations! The lucky students who were able to have two classes this week began their flexability test-Sit and Reach. I chose use this test this year as opposed to the shoulder stretch test last year to hopefully celebrate greater success!
